Congratulations to Zoe Vandermeer!

Trinity-on-Main would like to congratulate the newest member of our family, Zoe Vandermeer for winning 3rd place (tie) as well as earning a special citation for vocal and instrumental excellence in the in the women's opera divisions of The American Prize in Vocal Performance—Friedrich & Virginia Schorr Memorial Awards.

As a professional opera singer, composer, songwriter, baroque harpist and Celtic harpist, Zoe is also a prize-winning graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

She is the winner of the Bay Area Vocal Competition, Finalist in the London Young Artists Early Music Competition, and recipient of the Dame Joan Sutherland Fund, Emerging Artists Fund, and the MTNA Foundation Grant Fund.

As a soloist with orchestras and opera companies and as a singing harpist, Ms. Vandermeer performs internationally, is on the roster of the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism, and has been a featured guest on numerous radio shows in the US and Scotland.  Her solo voice/baroque triple harp album 'Angel's Wine, the Songs of John Dowland' won 2nd place for Best Classical Album by JPF international songwriting organization and her new voice/Welsh triple harp album featuring the music of Mozart, Handel, and 18th century Welsh harpist Richard Jones is slated for release this Winter.

Ms. Vandermeer is also an accomplished on-location classical recording engineer and producer; she has written for Classical Singer Magazine, and given presentations at the Classical Singer Conventions in New York City and Philadelphia, with audio and video clients including the Jensen Foundation Vocal Competition, Bedford Chamber Concerts, State Farm Insurance, Sonos Handbell Ensemble, Chelsea Opera, New York Consort of Viols, numerous opera singers, and the Institute for American Indian Studies.  As a music director, she has directed for theatre companies in the Bay Area and Connecticut, as well as having extensive experience as a church choral director/organist in Connecticut and New York.

Zoe Vandermeer has been providing professional vocal and piano instruction for children and adults for many years. Her young students as well as adult students can often be seen in lead roles and as soloists on Connecticut stages dedicated to musical theatre, rock, pop, classical, singer songwriter, and jazz. We could not be more thrilled to have Zoe and her organization, The Successful Voice Studio, as a part of the Trinity-on-Main team!
