Spotlight on our Partners: Queen Ann Nzinga Center

As things slow down here for the summer we would like to bring to
your attention some great organizations that make their home at
Trinity-on-Main.

About Queen Ann Nzinga Center:

The Queen Ann Nzinga Center is one of four arts organization that
currently calls Trinity-on-Main home. They hold their meetings,
classes, rehearsals and events here at T-o-M and also maintain an
office in our Chestnut St building. The Queen Ann Nzinga Center, Inc.,
founded in 1989, is an umbrella organization with two programming
divisions; Nzinga’s Watoto which houses the Center’s youth group
programs, and Nzinga’s Daughters, which houses the Center’s
community cultural education programs.

Youth Programs:
These programs are designed to build self-esteem, enhance life
skills, and foster creativity in an environment that celebrates
diversity and provides inter-generational mentoring. The Fall program
focuses on working together to acquire the skills (performance and
personal) and discipline to stage a multi-faceted, multi-act Kwanzaa
celebration show. Kwanzaa is an African American cultural holiday
that promotes 7 principles: unity, self-determination, collective
works and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity,
and faith. The Fall program runs from September to the December 29th
Kwanzaa performance.
